Empowering the Next Generation of Protectors and Innovators Through Scholarships and Apprentice Programs

At STANLEY Security, we’re passionate about empowering the next generations of protectors who will help build a safer, healthier, more efficient environment for us all.

Ten million skilled jobs, such as security technicians, remain unfilled around the globe. Our vision, as part of Stanley Black & Decker, is to enable 10 million creators and makers to thrive in an ever-changing world.

As part of this commitment to support those who make the world progress – the innovators who are dedicated to safeguarding the places and people we care about – we’ve developed two programs to provide funding opportunities and learning experiences for those interested in the security technology industry. Learn more about these opportunities below.

International Scholarship Program

In partnership with Scholarship America, we’re launching our first scholarship program to provide funding to students who are considering a career in the rapidly evolving field of security technology.

This international scholarship program will award 21 scholarships across the US, UK, France, Sweden and The Netherlands.

Each winner will receive financial support toward the development of their vocational skills and the essential trade knowledge and experience required to work in the security technology industry.

Technician Apprenticeship Program

The STANLEY Security Technician Apprenticeship Program provides skill training opportunities for motivated individuals interested in security technology. It is a strategic element in the development of a sustainable pipeline of talented and well-prepared technicians to help address market growth, retirement attrition, and technician retention.

Program participants will build skills through state-of-the-art classroom and hands-on training for installation, servicing, and maintenance of low-voltage security and fire alarm systems.

Each apprentice will be partnered with a mentor throughout the program to provide supervision and field experience while ensuring a safe working and learning environment. Mentors will collaborate closely with apprentices to provide constructive feedback to facilitate progress and development toward the successful completion of their apprenticeship term.

The expertise and insight of experienced mentors and managers will guide a new generation of security professionals in pursuit of a successful career within the STANLEY Security organization.
